the process

First, you will receive an intake form for you and your partner to fill out online and submit to us. After reviewing your intake form, we will contact you to schedule your mediation for an initial four hour session. Ms. Mroczek will meet via telephone or video chat with each party prior to the day of mediation to better understand each party’s position. The mediation will take place in the mediation rooms in the Spotsylvania County Circuit Courthouse.

The cost

The initial four-hour mediation session costs $750.00 and must be paid prior to scheduling. (We can invoice you both if you are sharing the fee.) This fee reserves a four-hour block of time and is a flat, non-refundable fee, regardless of whether the full four hours are used.

If additional time is available and necessary on mediation day, it will be billed at a rate of $100.00 per hour. If a second day of mediation is necessary, it will be scheduled as another four-hour session.

At the conclusion of the mediation session, the mediator will provide both parties with a written, bulleted summary of the issues discussed and any agreements reached during mediation.

This summary is for informational purposes only and is not a formal settlement agreement or legal document.

Any additional drafting, including but not limited to a memorandum of understanding or property settlement agreement is not included in the mediation fee and will be billed separately at a rate of $200.00 per hour, subject to a minimum of one hour.

My mediation was successful and did not take forever. I didn’t know if it would work but it cost less than a divorce/custody lawyer so I figured it was worth a shot. Ashley did her homework and was prepared so we were able to dive right in. The way she presented options was unique and got me thinking. I would recommend trying it, good result and much less painful than I thought it would be.
